The view from our window

This morning we awoke to a beautiful sunny day and birds chirping outside our window. After a yummy breakfast of scrambled eggs, cheese, black beans and bread we headed to our Guatemala City office.

We were greeted by the Guatemala staff as soon as we walked through the door. After a tour of the office and brief introductions, the meetings began. We spent the day learning more about FH Guatemala, asking them questions and sharing about what it is that we do in the FHUS office. It was nice to be able to talk face to face with the people that we often communicate with via e-mail.

We ate lunch with the entire staff and then the meetings continued. Today was our only day in the Guatemala City office as tomorrow we are headed to the Alta Verapaz region and more specifically the city of Coban. We will then spend the next few days with the community staff as we visit three communities and see the incredible work that FH is doing.

It is hard to believe that after 3 years of working at FH, I am finally getting to see and be a part of the great work being done here.

The rest of the evening is time to relax as we have a few busy days ahead. But I wanted to take a few moments to share some photos from today with all of our sponsors! Here is the FH Guatemala national office:
